Opening Opened
Performative opening
2021

During the lockdown, I felt deeply frustrated by the isolation in my atelier, with no opportunities to communicate. The atelier, located in an old building once used by nuns, had a food elevator that I transformed into a miniature version of a white gallery space with just a few adjustments.

For the live-opening, I walked from my house to the atelier, capturing every open space I encountered along the way—a small crack in a wall, a gap in a fence, an open door, a hole... until I reached the final destination: the food lift, now the “Asansor”.

(Asansor means Lift in Farsi)
